About Artshoppy

Artshoppy is an art gallery that shows and sells original Indian art online, founded in Kolkata in 2019. It is run by Bizarre Mart Private Limited, a company registered in Kolkata.

The gallery shows 542 works by 104 artists. Most are paintings, drawings and works on paper. There are also prints, sculpture and two books. The collection runs from the painters who shaped modern Indian art, and the Bengal school before them, to artists working in and around Kolkata now, and every work has a page of its own with the artist, medium, dimensions and price.

Sixteen of those works are marked Price on request. Fourteen are National Art Treasures under Indian law. They can be bought, but they cannot leave India, and their pages say so.

How we work

  • Every original is issued with a certificate of authenticity. It names the work, the artist, the medium, the dimensions and the gallery.
  • Prices are shown before GST. For delivery in India, GST is added at checkout: 5 % on works of art and nothing on books.
  • You can see a work on a wall before you buy it. On the Wall, on each artwork page, hangs the work in a room drawn to true scale, so you can see how big a 91 × 122 cm canvas really is.
  • Framing is shown, not sold. You can preview frames on the wall. If you want a work framed, ask and the gallery will quote.
  • You can talk to the gallery before you decide. Ask about this work on every artwork page opens a way to write to us or message us on WhatsApp.

Buying from outside India

The gallery currently delivers within India only. If you are outside India, write to the gallery on WhatsApp at +91 99039 71710 or at support@artshoppy.com to ask about a work, and the gallery will let you know when international delivery is available. How to buy has the details.

Artists

The gallery works directly with artists and with the estates and collectors who hold older work. Each artist has a profile with a biography, where one has been written and agreed, and all of their works on show. Artists who want to know how the gallery takes on work can read the artist handbook.
