Subrata Das studied under the renowned painter Shuvaprasanna at the College of Visual Arts,Kolkata. A highly gifted artist,Das is known for his highly lyrical & romantic paintings of Radha & Krishna & Buddha which are his preferred subject matter.
Marked by a deep sense of lyricism,his work has gathered a deep appreciation over the years for the calmness it exudes. He places his subjects in lush & exotic surroundings often accompanied by peacocks & other flora & fauna in warm browns & sepias or emerald greens & cool aquas.
Over the years,he has exhibited his work regularly in India & abroad & his work can be found in many private & public collections across India & overseas.
