Deep Sekhar Chakraborty is a contemporary Bengali writer and a self-taught painter. He works with several mediums but his favorite one remains the oil pastels which allow him to create compositions with easy strokes, blending unworriedly to create a transient world of vivid colors and carefree gestures which are deeply interlinked with his poetry. His subjects are colorful and childlike, a personification of his own belief that one should preserve the colors of his soul in order to become a master of his own life.
