Mithun completed his M.V.A from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
His paintings are composed as the visual representation of metamorphosis of meaning with the transition of time. His creative venture transverses along the philosophical concern of the synthetic nature of meaning-making in the contemporary society of Post-truth.
His work has been part of many curated, as well as group shows in India and abroad, namely the Birla Academy Kala Mela, 2007, Concern for Art Fair, 2005, Group Show “Social & Political Injustice” At Akriti Art Gallery In 2011, “Tagore Lost & Found” At Art Bull, New Delhi In 2013 etc. He Participated In A Group Show Held At Christies At London In 2010. He is a recipient of the Pollock- Krasner Grant New York, twice in 2016 & 2021.
