Born in 1982, Jiban Biswas strives to depict in his paintings, his perception and conflict with the impersonal materialism of city life in contrast to his childhood spent in simplicity amidst nature and animals. He paints using vivid shades of blue, green, red and yellow, his subjects are often domestic animals, especially cows adorned in a combination of modern and traditional decorations.
He graduated with a BVA from Govt. College Of Art & Craft, and was awarded with the Ravi Jain Memorial Scholarship in 2003. He has exhibited extensively for the past fifteen year, both in India and abroad. His paintings belong in the personal collections of prestigious social figures and groups, as well as in countries like Germany and England.
