Atin Basak was born on the 27th March, 1966. He spent most part of his life in Baitakkhana street, Pataldanga region, near Sealdah station,studied at the college of Art & Craft, Kolkata and completed his MFA in printmaking from Baroda. Basak'swork exudes a sense of peace and calm. His masterful use of shading and texturing helps portray the characters' (influenced by sages and recluses) confidence and power.
