Tapas Biswas is a master sculptor who is known to work in a very highly stylistic & individual style. Known for blending a variety of styles & modern casting techniques, he fuses his works with life,movement & scale.

Born in 1972,Tapas studied at the Goverment College of Art & Craft where he obtained his Bachelor of Visual Arts degree (BVA) & this was followed by an MFA in sculpture from Benares Hindu University. He was awarded the junior research fellowship from the HRD Ministry by the Government of India from 1998-2000 & was awarded the Governor's Award for best exhibit in the Annual Exhibition hosted by the Government College of Art & Craft,Calcutta in 1994,1996 & 1998.
