About Deep Sekhar Chakraborty

Deep Sekhar Chakraborty is a contemporary Bengali writer and a self-taught painter. He works with several mediums, but his favourite is oil pastels, which allow him to create compositions with easy strokes, blending unworriedly to create a transient world of vivid colours and carefree gestures that are deeply interlinked with his poetry. His subjects are colourful and childlike, a personification of his own belief that one should preserve the colours of his soul in order to become a master of his own life.
