Kartick Pal
About Kartick Pal
Kartick Pal lives in Murshidabad district, a historical place known for its heritage buildings, rich culture, rituals and various art forms, preserved and protected by the serene Bhagirathi and green surroundings. He was born and brought up there, watching his own family's artisanship in pottery, which helped him develop an artistic mind and aesthetic sense. Colours, clay, patterns and the making of idols have run in his veins since childhood. He pursued his bachelor's degree in fine arts from The Indian College of Art and Draftmanship, Kolkata, and later his master's degree in drawing and painting from Govt. Dungar College, Rajasthan. He grew up surrounded by nature, village landscapes, historic architecture and sculptures of gods and goddesses, which have immensely influenced his paintings and led him to paint realistic, impressionist and large-scale works with a hint of surrealism. He likes to develop his paintings with abstract forms of nature, living beings and mysteries. He loves to paint the nocturne. The contemporary political scenario, the lifestyle of common people and human psychology, among others, are his favourite subject matters to work with. He is fond of working with watercolour on paper. His craftsmanship lies in capturing his subject through transparent glazing techniques.
