Chippa Sudhakar (b 1967)
Chippa Sudhakar’s personalized visual language is an insightful engagement with different media and techniques. Working with acrylic and etching, wood and glass resin, carved relief and colour washes, he manages to express his concerns about his surroundings rather sensitively. He holds a Diploma in Fine Arts in Painting from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad and Post Diploma in Graphics from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. He has been honored with the Bombay Art Society Award, 1993, the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath Award, Bangalore, 1993, and the award of Hyderabad Art Society, 1994, Bendre Hussain Award 2002 in Sculpture, Mumbai Art Society. He has held several solo shows and has participated in group shows in India and abroad. He is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, London. He lives and works in Hyderabad.
