About Subrata Das

Subrata Das studied under the renowned painter Shuvaprasanna at the College of Visual Arts, Kolkata. Das is known for lyrical and romantic paintings of Radha and Krishna, and of Buddha, which are his preferred subject matter.

Marked by a deep sense of lyricism, his work has gathered a deep appreciation over the years for the calmness it exudes. He places his subjects in lush and exotic surroundings, often accompanied by peacocks and other flora and fauna, in warm browns and sepias or emerald greens and cool aquas.

Over the years, he has exhibited his work regularly in India and abroad, and his work can be found in many private and public collections across India and overseas.
