Followers ABOUT ARTIST
Ashis Kabasi studied at the Government College of Art & Craft,Calcutta from where he obtained his Diploma. This was followed by a Post Diploma from Kala Bhavan,Viswa Bharati University,Santiniketan.
In search for an individual style,made him search much deeper in his own feelings. Primarily a figurative painter,the human face & figure has been of great interest to him. Over time,these take on a certain sculptural element & become sculptural busts expressing a tabletop quality which is similar in a still life. Elongated necks & inverting the heads,he has experimented with a yin-yang of the human torso. Bold brushstrokes with solid colour application is another key area in his art.
He has showcased his work in group & solo shows in Kolkata,New Delhi,Bangalore,Mumbai,Ahmedabad,Chennai,Hyderabad & London.
