Bhaskar Bordoloi hails from Bongaigaon, Assam, and is pursuing his MFA in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati. His paintings portray an elusive world of mysticism and dystopia. His compositions are packed with elements of grotesque visuals and dark humor; often sexually explicit; where his subjects' religious and socio-political predicaments are revealed through symbolic representation. His images are emotionally inventive yet there are elements of popular culture and the contemporary in abundance. His unique style is synthesized from the unusual marriage of the two unfamiliar worlds of Indian miniatures and Northern Renaissance art.
