About this work

Nimontron ii — Bengali for "invitation, part two" — is painted in acrylic on canvas, dated 2025 and sized just 8 × 10 cm, the smallest of Chaitali De Chanda's works in this catalogue by a wide margin. It also breaks from her 2021–2023 run of Figurative rural-life paintings, catalogued instead as Surrealism under a Vibrant subject.

Chaitali De Chanda

Chaitali De Chanda is a contemporary artist whose work bridges the traditional heritage of Bengal with modern artistic expression. Specialising in acrylic on canvas, her paintings are known for their vibrant colour palettes, bold brush strokes and art deco influences.
