About this work

Acrylic on paper, also dated 1980. It is an animal subject rather than one of the landscapes Karmakar is best known for, from the same early period as the other paper work in this group and well before his last decade of landscape painting.

Prokash Karmakar

Prokash Karmakar (1933–2014) was a highly original blend of Indian sensibilities and western technique. He was educated at the Govt.
