About this work
River Runs Through It is worked in mixed media on canvas, 76 × 102 cm, dated 2018, an abstract landscape. Veena Advani trained in textile design at Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, and spent four decades embroidering for New York fashion houses before returning to painting; her mixed-media canvases carry that hand-embroidery technique into abstract, nature-derived compositions.
Veena Advani
Veena Advani is represented by five works, dated 1997 to 2018. Flower Study (1997) is an acrylic on paper; the four mixed media works are on canvas, among them Bonded (2010) and Bedrock (2018, a 61 cm square).
