About this work
Dharti is built in mixed media on canvas, a 2019 nude. Seema Kohli's practice centres on Shakti, the feminine principle of creation, worked in painting, gold and silver leaf and installation since the early 2000s. The title is Hindi for "earth," keeping this nude within her recurring pairing of the female body with the earth and creation.
