About this work

House is a small acrylic on paper, a single building set within a landscape. It sits alongside the figure studies that dominate Lahiri's six-decade Kolkata practice, worked in the same bold, largely unmodulated colour she carried across oil, watercolour and acrylic.

Shanu Lahiri

Shanu Lahiri (1928-2013) was a student of the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. She was the first student of the college to receive the AIFACS President's Gold Medal.

28 works by this artist are available.
