About this work

Dandiya is an acrylic on canvas, 76 × 91 cm, dated 2022, depicting the stick dance performed during Navratri, at a smaller scale than the artist's Dandia and Dandia Rasa from the same year. Subrata Gangopadhyay's realist draftsmanship, developed at the Government College of Art & Crafts, Calcutta, carries this recurring festival subject.
