Biplab Dalai is a self taught artist and could not complete his studies due to financial problems. In his early stage of life, he took up odd jobs from being an assistant at a doctor's chamber to selling chicken at the local markets. Reading Vincent Van Gogh’s autobiography changed his life and he decided to follow his passion and love for sketching and painting. His watercolour paintings are widely popular for their unique bold strokes of blackness, mellowed down with wash technique with ocassional spashes of vibrant vermillion.
