Tumpa gained her Bachelor of Visual Art from the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta in 1998. This was followed by  Fashion Design and Clothing Technique,NIFT, Kolkata.
Presently she works as an artist and art & Craft Teacher of a West Bengal Govt. aided School.
