Bhaskar Lahiri (b 1961)

Bhaskar Lahiri draws his inspiration from the spectacular manifestations of the ancient civilizations all around the world, especially that of India. He is enchanted by the knowledge of age-old Indian philosophy, history, religion, literature and folk-culture from which he creates his imageries and houses them in his compositions. He pursued his diploma in Fine Arts, Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship in 1986 and worked under the guidance of the eminent painter, Subhaprasanna. He exhibited extensively in Kolkata, as well as in Delhi and Mumbai, and illustrated for The Little Magazine, Delhi along with many other books and magazines.
